Positive pregnancy test in men: A disease worth knowing

Cite this article:

hCG stands for Human chorionic gonadotropin, it is used widely to test for pregnancies. But sometimes if a pregnancy test in a man is positive does it means he is pregnant? No.

A disease called “testicular choriocarcinoma” can cause elevated levels of hCG in blood and make false-positive pregnancy tests in any gender or age.

Pure choriocarcinoma of the testis is the exception to most of the rules established for testicular seminomas and all other forms of nonseminomatous germ cell tumors.

A case worth reading from the American College of Chest Physicians is right here.
